Johnson Controls + Fiserv Forum
PROBLEM - in 2015, Johnson Controls - a global, market leader in building technologies - merged with Tyco and explored several organic opportunities to drive incremental growth post-merger. Zach had recently finalized Johnson Controls first-ever, integrated B2B sports and entertainment model and Johnson Controls challenged Zach to find a new, major projects to prove out the strategic plan.
SOLUTION - the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks were at the outset of developing a $550m, state-of-the-art multi-purpose sports and entertainment venue - Fiserv Forum. The Bucks were searching for partners to support their aspirations to own and operate the smartest NBA home venue. Representing Johnson Controls, Zach designed, negotiated and activated Johnson Controls integrated, B2B partnership with the Bucks.
The Bucks purchased Johnson Controls building technologies products and services to design and construct Fiserv Forum and in turn, Johnson Controls became the first founding partner of Fiserv Forum. Zach negotiated a robust partnership asset package including entitlement to the arena’s NW Gate, presenting sponsorship of an annual video series and a mix of IP, high-impact signage and hospitality to drive, awareness, consideration and conversion.
ROI - the Fiserv Forum project became Johnson Controls largest in the vertical in North American history. Since the venue opened, Fiserv Forum became a living showcase of the brand’s building technologies and solutions, spurring new, incremental projects that the brand would not have otherwise secured.
Powering the Mission of the Bucks
Zach collaborated with Johnson Controls sales and marketing teams to develop bespoke branded content. The series - “Power The Mission of the Bucks” - serves as a dynamic testimonial of how Johnson Controls building technologies and solutions support the Bucks goals and objectives.
Johnson Controls Entrance
In partnership with design firm Downstream, Zach designed the brand’s integration within the NW Gate. The brand installed a 60-foot “Outcome Wall” within the gate’s interior showcasing how Johnson Controls “powers” Fiserv Forum. In addition, Zach supported the manufacturing and installation of the brand’s “Open Globe” structure outside of the gate.
